“Daffodils, that come before the swallow dares, and take the winds of March with beauty.” Few flowers are as woven into history, folklore and the changing seasons as the daffodil. Named after Narcissus of Greek mythology, the beautiful youth who became entranced by his own reflection and was transformed into a flower. Throughout history, its bulbs were used medicinally, and folklore claimed that eating them could allow you to glimpse the fairy world. The Victorians were wary of bringing a single daffodil indoors, fearing it invited misfortune, poverty and even madness. In Wales, where the daffodil is a treasured national emblem, spotting the first bloom of spring before your neighbours was thought to bring good fortune for the year ahead. Today, it remains a symbol of rebirth, renewal and the hopeful return of brighter days.
Our soy candles are hand poured in small batches in Beddgelert, North Wales, and finished with a crackling wood wick. Like our jewellery, our candles are inspired by the language of flowers. The collection centres on single flowers and the meanings they have carried through generations, alongside a small number of seasonal fragrances inspired by folklore, the changing seasons and the places we’ve called home.
Poured into amber glass jars and carefully presented in our signature packaging, they are made to be enjoyed at home or given as a thoughtful gift.
